CPI rose 2.7% last year. It was "led" by medical and education expenses, which are both straight inflation, i.e., two primary ways that money is pumped into the economy (the third being the federal payroll). Our expectation that prices have fallen when unsatisfied.C.W.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16478139107745117649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8507267003129255315.post-37831856117508774142010-01-14T19:48:04.756-08:002010-01-14T19:48:04.756-08:00Hey, I'm 64, I'm sure your memory works ju...Hey, I'm 64, I'm sure your memory works just fine. Yes, they did. I'm sure that they would say this year we should be giving something back.

My point was that up until the mortgage mess began the general price level was heading upwards. Now, with so much "money" destroyed and production down, that is, the recovery from the boom, prices should be falling, which they aren't, not in any significant way.

You're right about the appearance. I should know better than trust the little edit/compose box to tell me how it would look when published. And, I then didn't really look at it sufficiently. I guess that I am still learning. So, I'll go back and edit it and see what mess that creates.

Great comment, Burgess, wish I had a prize to give you.C.W.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16478139107745117649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8507267003129255315.post-35057293287158641632010-01-14T05:34:44.995-08:002010-01-14T05:34:44.995-08:00> "(Please give me some feedback if . . .&...> "(Please give me some feedback if . . ."

A suggestion on appearance: Insert a single blank line between paragraphs, for easier reading and clearer logical structure.

> "In 2008, the social security people decided seniors should get an indexed increase of 5.6%. Administration saying recently the 5.6% increase would probably be followed with no increase at all for a year, because of price drops in many areas.Burgess Laughlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13865479709475171678noreply@blogger.com
